Our Commitment During COVID-19

Written by Lancom Communications, March 2020

With COVID-19 continuing to spread around the world we wanted to share with our partners how Lancom Technology is responding to the evolving situation.

Our partners and clients are at the heart of everything we do, which is why we are actively listening to what you are telling us. Whilst the situation will continue to evolve, we want to share the plans we have in place to ensure we can continue to provide you with a seamless service, and the support you need and expect to receive from us.

We are prepared
Being a technology company, it should come as no surprise that we run our business from the cloud. We are fortunate to have a suite of tools that keep our business running smoothly, regardless of where our people physically are. This means our people can already work remotely and we have a number of colleagues who work from home on a full-time basis, both here in New Zealand and around the world.

We regularly test our systems and will be able to continue delivering a safe and secure service.

It’s business as usual
In the event of a full office shutdown it will be business as usual. Our service desk will continue to run from the cloud and we will be able to operate remotely at 100%.  You will be able to get in touch with our teams in the usual ways (via the Lancom button, email or over the telephone) - wherever you happen to be working from.

Your business continuity is important
If you haven’t already, think about how your clients can contact you if your teams need to all work from home for an extended length of time. Also think about how your teams can communicate with one another to maximise productivity.

Microsoft’s crisis communications app
Last week Microsoft launched a new crisis communication app to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 by enabling staff to easily share status updates. Through it, employees can report if they are working from home. The platform, which combines Power Apps, Power Automate, Microsoft Teams and SharePoint, can be used via a web browser, mobile app or Teams to help staff collaborate during a crisis. We have implemented the app for our own business and would be happy to implement it for our customers, free of charge. Find out more about the app here.

We are here to help
We are here to help if you are looking at ways your business can be better equipped to respond to the COVID-19 crisis.  Our Customer Success team are on hand to review current solutions, discuss options and provide recommendations. We can also help introduce the Microsoft crisis communications app free of charge. Get in touch by contacting your Customer Success Manager directly or by emailing customersuccess@lancom.co.nz.
