Lancom Technology strengthens cloud delivery capability with Azure Migration Specialization
Written by Lancom Technology, June 2026
Lancom Technology has achieved the Microsoft Azure Infrastructure and Database Migration Specialization, marking another milestone in the company’s continued investment in cloud capability and delivery excellence. With this new Specialization, the company is certified to migrate enterprise production workloads into Azure environments.
The recognition follows a rigorous third-party audit process, with Lancom successfully meeting all requirements of the Microsoft Specialization programme, says Technical Director Gregor Blaj. “The new designation underpins our position as a cloud-first managed services provider with a strong focus on application modernisation, automation, and data-driven transformation,” he notes.
Microsoft introduced Specializations in 2023 as part of its partner program, validating deep technical expertise within a Solutions Partner designation.
Blaj says Lancom Technology holds multiple Microsoft Solutions Partner designations in competencies including Azure Infrastructure, Digital & App Innovation, Security, and Modern Work Enterprise.
“Specializations complement Solutions Partner designations,” he explains. “It’s the proof that the partner, in this case Lancom, has delivered in the particular area, at a level Microsoft recognises as best-in-class.”
Specializations are awarded after meeting strict performance metrics and passing a rigorous third-party audit which includes customer references and certified expert assessment. Each Specialization maps to a core Microsoft solution stack, with over 30 available in solution areas including Azure, Data & AI, Digital & App Innovation, Infrastructure, Business Applications, Modern Workplace, and Security.
Blaj, who led the effort, confirms that Lancom met every benchmark across both foundational cloud capabilities and specialised migration competencies, demonstrating technical depth, governance frameworks, and repeatable delivery processes required to attain the certification.
The Infrastructure and Database Migration to Microsoft Azure Specialization specifically recognises partners with deep expertise in migrating production workloads including Windows Server, SQL Server, and a range of open-source databases into Azure environments. It helps customers identify partners capable of executing complex migration and modernisation projects with confidence and at scale.
Lancom’s audit submission provided detailed evidence across multiple customer engagements, including end-to-end migration scenarios covering infrastructure, database workloads, deployment automation, testing, and operational handover. The audit report highlighted the consistent delivery methodologies, noting the use of standardised templates, repeatable Infrastructure-as-Code deployments, and defined governance practices.
The assessment also demonstrated Lancom’s use of native Azure tooling and services to manage migration and ongoing operations, including Azure Migrate, Azure Database Migration Service, and integrated monitoring, backup, and governance controls.
Customer examples validated Lancom’s ability to transition workloads from on-premises environments into Azure while maintaining performance, security, and compliance standards.
Chief executive Priscila Bernardes says this accreditation solidifies Lancom Technology’s position of being a provider of choice for cloud technologies. “We view these efforts through a customer lens; with migrations delivering benefits of efficiency and new functionality, our ability to deliver across a wide range of database technologies helps customers take advantage of modern technology including AI.”
She adds that the Microsoft Azure Infrastructure and Database Migration Specialization signals reduced delivery risk for cloud migration initiatives. “Microsoft’s validation confirms our repeatable success in real-world scenarios, rather than theoretical capability, offering greater assurance around project outcomes. It also means customers benefit from structured delivery methodologies that accelerate migration timelines while minimising disruption.”
