Lancom Technology Appoints Anthony McMahon As Chief Customer Officer

Managed services and cloud infrastructure solutions provider Lancom Technology has appointed Anthony McMahon to the position of Chief Customer Officer. McMahon joins the company in a planned executive succession, bringing expertise to continue driving the company’s customer enablement and growth strategy. 

With the bulk of his enterprise experience gained delivering technology services and solutions in the banking industry, McMahon signs on with Lancom Technology after a seven-year stint running his own consulting business, driving technology strategies for organisations in industries including finance and insurance, not for profit, education, and engineering. 

He has worked closely with customers across New Zealand and Australia, maximizing the value of their partnerships with managed services providers, focusing on performance assessments, strategic alignment, and driving improvements delivering better business outcomes. 

“Having worked alongside and with Lancom Technology in my consulting business, it has emerged as one of the more capable operators across A/NZ and now the USA too. That is why I have come on board,” McMahon notes. 

He points to Lancom’s track record of supporting growing organisations as a strategic Managed Services provider as a sound foundation on which to build. 

Welcoming McMahon to the Senior Leadership Team, CEO Priscila Bernardes says part of the company’s success comes from keeping things simple. “We deliver on our promises with a close eye on being on time and on budget. This is a key factor in our lasting customer partnerships, with an average retention exceeding 10 years, and a key priority Anthony will build on.”  

Continuing, McMahon adds that with the company’s growth ambitions, there’s an opportunity to define mid-market managed services delivery in New Zealand, Australia and beyond. “This is a great brand to be aligned with on my personal mission to help mature the industry as a whole.” 

His duties include leading Lancom’s Customer Success teams, focusing on pairing technology to business strategy and exceptional customer experiences, maximizing customer retention, and driving growth. “A key goal will be forward looking technology planning, shifting from reactive to proactive service delivery, aligning budgets and increasing Lancom’s share of the IT spend with sustainable plans,” McMahon says. 

His guiding philosophy includes keeping things simple and practical, building ‘for and not with’ (from a technology perspective, McMahon adds, so that systems are flexible and open), and finding and retaining talent. “I’m a fan of ‘what you can’t coach, poach’. The skills are out there in a competitive market, and we’ll keep winning talent by being a great place to work.” 

McMahon is a passionate live music enthusiast, attending 12 live gigs in 2025. When he’s not at a concert, you’ll find him out on the water paddleboarding, tending to his garden, or cheering on his kids’ sporting pursuits - often from the sidelines as a dedicated rugby coach.
