Lancom is ‘Cosell-ready’ for App Modernisation with Microsoft

In the past few months, we’ve have addressed application modernisation as a topic repetitively. That’s because old applications are, in many instances, holding Kiwi businesses back. Modernisation means unleashing the applications, their infrastructure and data, bringing new ways of working (mobile, ultra-scale, anywhere access, improved security) to the fore. Today, we are pleased to announce that Lancom is certified ‘Co-sell ready’ for App Modernisation with Microsoft.


The modern world runs on code and is powered by applications. The simplest things we interact with daily are powered by software from emails to traffic lights. Receiving the Microsoft Co-Sell ready status on app modernisation is a testament to Lancom’s ability to distil businesses needs and deliver tailored solutions that enable processes to run seamlessly, connects people to technology and improve quality of life.

Co-sell ready speaks to a fundamental shift in Microsoft’s business model, also known as “One Commercial Partner”. Launched in early 2017, the One Commercial Partner model is a realignment from Microsoft’s side which sees it working closer with partners like us, with customers like you. In terms of the application modernisation offering, this means we are working hand-in-glove with Microsoft (rather than how it used to work: you’d have two separate relationships, one with the vendor, and another with us as the solution provider).

Quoted in Reseller News, newly appointed Microsoft NZ channel chief Sarah Bowden explains it pretty well:

“When I joined Microsoft, we had one team working with our customers and a separate team working alongside our partners, but under the One Commercial Partner model we have greater alignment and synergy through our channel managers and partner marketing advisors. Our partners are now supported to build and market their solutions and our account teams have a deeper understanding of our partners’ solutions and are actively selling with them. It’s so powerful.”
